The Dell Vineyard

We are a small but expanding, family-run vineyard based between the beautiful Usk and Wye Valleys in Raglan, Monmouthshire. In 2021 we first leased an established 20 year old vineyard nearby with 1800 vines. This baptism of fire taught us the joys and tribulations of growing grapes in the cooler, wetter climate of Wales. In May 2022 we then planted our vineyard on the outskirts of the village, with 5000 Pinot Noir and Solaris vines. The Dell has been farmed by the Alford family for five generations and this is our diversification project. Lucy is an Intensive Care Nurse and Dan was a Graphic Designer before retraining in viticulture. In November 23 we were awarded Best Still Rosé in Wales and a Silver Medal at the Welsh Vineyard Association awards 2023. Our white wine was also awarded a silver medal in its category.
