Vanilla & Crumb

Vanilla & Crumb was founded by Katy Gibbs in March 2021. A huge lover of cooking and baking and at only 21 years of age, she finally plucked up the courage to turn her passion into a business. All of her bakes are handmade from scratch here in South Wales using the finest ingredients.

After graduating from the University of Birmingham last year (with a Business Management degree, believe it or not!), COVID had put my plans for a graduate job on hold. Throughout lockdown, I was constantly baking and sharing all of my creations on Instagram. After lots of requests from friends, family, and even strangers, I finally decided to turn my passion for baking into a business. It has been an absolute dream so far and I feel so lucky to do what I love everyday.

All of my bakes are handmade and everything from the preparation, to the baking, to the decorating is done entirely by myself. When starting up my  business, I noticed that there was a gap in the market for bakes that were fully customisable - you can often find a standard batch of cookies or brownies, but I wanted to create a business where I could give my customers the chance to customise their bakes. When ordering a brownie box from Vanilla & Crumb, you are essentially building your perfect brownies, from the chocolate chunks, to the drizzle, to the crumb topping. The quality of my ingredients was also key for me and I knew that I didn’t want to forgo the luxury taste. I use the finest ingredients in all of the bakes; down to the cocoa powder in the brownies and the chocolate chunks in the cookies.

We are at Riverside the third Sunday of the month. Also check here as we pop up from time to time at the other Riverside markets too.
