Winners of the 'Best Retail' Award at the Cardiff Life Awards 2023

We are thrilled to share the news that last Thursday, our Cardiff Farmers’ Markets picked up the ‘Best Retail’ award at this year’s prestigious Cardiff Life Awards at City Hall.

Beating off stiff competition from some brilliant local businesses, a panel of independent judges called us “a traditional, highly-valued market by its customers, embraced the local traders with over 100 producers across its three regular markets and pop-ups for students at university sites.”

As we focus on making our markets even better for 2023, here are a few words from our Enterprise Manager, Carol Adams, who was there on the night to pick up the award on behalf of our brilliant traders…

“This award is for so many people!  A huge thanks to our wonderful traders who are farming, producing, making and selling fresh, sustainable food,  the talented artists, crafts people and musicians who add to the vibrancy of the markets.

Thank you to our customers!  There would not be a market without the loyal customers who support our 3 weekly markets at Rhiwbina, Roath and Riverside  and pop up markets at Cardiff Met, St Fagans, Cardiff University and our street food market at Riverside. 

Behind the scenes, we have a team of dedicated staff and a visionary volunteer Board of Directors who do so much for the markets.  We are so lucky to have such a dedicated, creative and talented team.
