Cardiff Farmers Markets: Introducing Our New Identity
Our markets have been supporting communities, producers and the people who shop at them since the very first one - a sunny Sunday morning in Riverside back in 1998. We’re thrilled that more than 20 years on, customers are valuing what we offer more than ever - fresh, sustainable food bought directly from the people who produced it.
These days, we bring together more than 100 farmers and small producers to trade across our three regular markets every week (at Riverside, Roath and Rhiwbina) - as well as our monthly market at St Fagans.
We also run pop-up markets at two university sites to help the city’s student population get access to farm-fresh produce and give them a chance to meet new producers.
With all of this in mind, we felt it was time for a fresher and more inclusive take; we wanted to better capture the eclectic choices that our markets offer the community - so from now on, we'll be known simply as Cardiff Farmers Markets.
We've worked with the folks at HAUM to create a brand new logo to match our simplified name; with a nod to rolling fields, the rising sun and the three original markets (East, North and West) all under a rotated C - for Cardiff. It's a mark which can be easily used, deconstructed and applied to different collaterals.
You can expect to see our new name and logo rolled out across social media in the coming week; it will also start appearing across print materials, on our banners and adverts, and anywhere else you might expect to see our name and identity.
We hope you like it!
